Soak cucumbers in lime and cold water 24 hours. Rinse thoroughly in cold water. Soak 3 hours in clean cold water. Drain well. Mix remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Pour hot syrup over pickles and let sit overnight. Simmer all for 35-40 minutes. Pack in jars and seal. Note – spices may be put in a cheesecloth bag and then added to syrup mixture and boiled.
