2 cups flour

1 cup butter or margarine

¼ cup water


2 cups sugar

¼ cup flour

4 egg yolks – I use 3 egg yolks and 1 whole egg since that is what is left when making a white cake mix

5 tsp. almond flavoring


Crust - Mix like a pie crust. Cut together flour and butter, gently stir in water till it forms a ball, add a little more water if necessary. Divide the crust into 2 balls. Roll out 1st ball a little bit bigger than a 9” x 13” pan. Fold in ½ and place in pan, then unfold.

Filling - Beat together and pour over crust.

Roll out 2nd crust same size as first and lay over the filling. Pinch crust together around outside edges.

Brush top with small amount of milk and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 350 for 50 – 60 minutes till golden brown.

This is an old recipe that I remember Mom used to make.
